Description:

A rare double handled, double spouted pearlware teapot printed in blue with the Standard Willow pattern.  The scalloped design of the collar adds a decorative element to this very functional, large pot.  The pot measures 13 inches from handle to handle and approximately 15 inches from spout to spout.  It has an inner vessel with lid connected to one spout and the exterior well around the inner vessel services the second spout. The pot would have been designed to prepare and serve two types of tea from the same vessel, likely designed for a tearoom or public house serving large numbers.  It must have been difficult to clean.  The pot has repairs and some damage:  one handle has three old metal staples, the lid also has a staple repair and the inner lid has a metal replacement finial.
