Maker: Dudson Description: An earthenware tankard-shaped jug with molded handle printed in black and painted in several colors and with a black Jackfield-type glaze. Gilded banding has been added to the rim and collar with gilding also used to highlight the molded rope handle. The pattern consists of a Chinese fishing scene above which is a large fish that appears to dive into the scene. A separate pattern is printed and painted on the other side of the jug (see below). |
