Shape Type: Miscellaneous Pattern Type: Landscapes and Waterscapes Date: 1835-45 Dimensions:
Maker: Enoch Wood & Sons Description: An earthenware jug with a multi-color printed landscape pattern on each side. The landscape depicts a man in the middle distance fishing in a stream with castellated turret and buildings behind. The print is composed of four color prints in blue, yellow, green and brown, superimposed upon one another to create the complete scene. The center design is known on a plate from the Acanthus Scrolls Border Series which link to examples that have the impressed mark WOOD suggesting that this puzzle jug may also come from Enoch Wood's factory.
