Description:

This porcelain mug by William Reid is printed by John Sadler with a half length portrait of William Pitt.  As Secretary of State Pitt was largely responsible for the prosecution of Britain's part in the Seven Years War.  The print is entitled "The Right Honourable WILLIAM PITT Esqr." below which is "J Sadler Liverpool Enamel".  To one side is a print of a shield bearing the Prussian eagle, surrounded by trophies of war and flags.  To the other, is a most unusual print of an assembly of diverse objects.
