Description:

This unusual mug is of barrel shape with turned grooves to its upper and lower section.  It is attributed to Bow.  Between the two grooved sections it is printed with two chinoiserie landscapes that are also found on Worcester and Derby.  It seems possible that the copper plates involved were supplied to Bow by Richard Holdship who left Worcester about 1759 and in 1764 signed an agreement to print Derby porcelain.
