Description:

A large earthenware under tray, presumably to a soup tureen. This is No. 12 in the Arman's numbering system and the view appears on this tray, as well as on several sizes of platters, a vegetable dish, a pitcher and two sizes of bowls, including a large wash bowl.

The central pattern on this example is taken from the source print shown below.   Prior to discovery of the source prints that Clews used for these patterns, researchers David and Linda Arman endeavored to provide descriptive names for them.  The Armans named this scene Mansion, small Boat with Flag in Foreground.
