Description:

An earthenware plate printed in blue with the Tibetian Musk pattern.  The pattern is more commonly found on a 9.75 inch soup plate.  The animals in the cartouches are clockwise from the top: a lion, fighting bulls, a tiger hunt, and a  horse surprised by a hog. The patterns in the cartouches are copied from drawings by Samuel Howitt for a book of Aesop's Fables.  The Tibetian Musk also appears on a 13 inch pie or open vegetable dish.
