Description:

A square earthenware serving dish printed in blue with the pattern name Bedfords Essex printed on the reverse.  The view is based on a print from John Preston Neale's Views of the Seats of Noblemen and Gentlemen in England and Wales, Scotland and Ireland.  This estate north of Romford in Essex was bought by John Heaton in the late 18th century.  He had the manor house built seen here which was torn down in 1956.
