The transfer printed design is typical of production by the firm during the late-19th century when operating under the name W. & E. Corn. The back and marks, however, are comparable to examples made during the H. Richards period as illustrated in Austwick, J. & B., The Decorated Tile, Pitman House Ltd, London, 1980. p.141.
