Transfer printed dust pressed tile with a design in Aestheic Movement style of sunflowers within a border of rectangles with sunrise scenes in circles, dark green on white.

This design bears close relation to the work by designers such as Thomas Jeckyll and Christopher Dresser. The Aesthetic or Art Movement was triggered by the display of Japanese decorative art at the London International Exhibition of 1862. Strongly influenced by Japanese design, the Aesthetic Movement was a reaction to the Gothic revival of the mid-19th century.

A similar border design was used on other tiles made by the T. R. Boote, in polychrome decoration, depicting flowers or domestic scenes in the centre.
