The center with deep central well, the rim extensively molded with a feather-edge to the longer sides and foliate molding to the ends. The center with overglaze black print of a landscape in the fashionable classical taste. The piece was made in Staffordshire by Josiah Wedgwood, the base is impressed "WEDGWOOD", and was likely printed in Liverpool by Sadler & Green, who had an exclusive contract with Wedgwood to print his cream colored earthenware. |
