Description:

Unglazed terracotta earthenware vase printed with "Ulysses on the hearth presenting himself to Alcinous and Arete" from Homer's Odyssey. Ulysses is the Latin version of the Greek name Odysseus.

The Bishops Waltham Clay Company Ltd. exhibited pottery, terracotta and ornamental bricks at the 1867 Paris International Exhibition.
