Richard Walker was a Liverpool engraver residing in Edmund Street in 1790, Bevington Bush in 1794, Castle Street in 1803, Harrington Street in 1805, and Temple Street in 1808. Alan Smith identified him with a retired ‘Richard Walker, gentleman’ of Rose Place in 1839. His signature as engraver is found in the overglaze print on a creamware jug, together with the name of Joseph Johnson of Liverpool as its printer. To see a signed Richard Walker piece click here |
