Maker: John Ridgway Maker's Mark: Description: Bone china inkwell with removable top formed as a holder for a taper. The front of the inkwell is printed with a scene entitled "WINDSOR CASTLE". A group of horse riders enter the scene from the right; the leader is riding side saddle, suggesting that this is Queen Victoria and an escort riding outside her Windsor castle home. The mark on the base is the royal coat of arms and barely visible in the ribbon beneath the central shield are the initials J R for the maker John Ridgway.
