Pearlware jug, with copper lustre band at the rim and printed in purple with rural scenes.  On one side is a farmyard scene with a field worker and a milkmaid going about their work as two children walk  away, on the other side a seated man relaxes smoking a pipe while a small boy with a stick and hoop approaches.

The front has a painted inscription "John Edwerds Union Inn Stafford 1824".  This no doubt refers to John Edwards who was listed as the licensee of the Union Inn Stafford in trade directories of the period.
