Shape Type: Miscellaneous Pattern Type: Genre Scenes Date: 1824 Maker: Unknown Description: Pearlware jug, with copper lustre band at the rim and printed in purple with rural scenes. On one side is a farmyard scene with a field worker and a milkmaid going about their work as two children walk away, on the other side a seated man relaxes smoking a pipe while a small boy with a stick and hoop approaches. The front has a painted inscription "John Edwerds Union Inn Stafford 1824".
