Description:

A rare pearlware cream jug printed in blue in the Parasol Willow pattern with two different borders printed in yellow on a brown ground and blue painted bands that frame the borders. While the border on the interior and exterior of the neck are the same as used on the Daniel version of Parasol Willow, also included in this exhibit, the third border printed in yellow on a brown band  just above the central blue printed pattern--an unidentified version of the butterfly border-- is quite different. A floral spray is printed in blue under the beak of the jug. The pattern printed on the handle is the same pattern that is printed on the interior border of the jug. While not marked, the jug's probable attribution is to Walter Daniel, Burslem, Staffordshire, due to the similarities to the marked version of the pattern.
