Maker: T.C.Brown-Westhead Moore & Co. Maker's Mark: Description: A large dessert plate printed with a flying partridge in a landscape. This was printed using a new patented process involving the use of wax and copper. The mark is extremely informative giving the name of the painter, Edward Kennard (pinxit), the vendor, John Mortlock (vendit), and the maker, T.C.Brown-Westhead Moore & Co (fecit). This is one piece from a service of 100 pieces featuring birds and marine life which was exhibited in 1876 at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition. |
