This jug was made by John Pennington in Liverpool (or, more strictly speaking, if it was made after his death in 1786, it would have been a product of his widow Jane who continued the factory until 1794).  The details of the mask spout and handle enable this jug to be assigned to the factory (see Maurice Hillis Liverpool Porcelain (2011) pp 319-324).  The printed design, known as the Man on a Bridge Pagoda Pattern, was also used by the New Hall factory.
