A molded earthenware comport printed in two colors with a view of the town of Oberwessel (now Wesel) in Prussia, on the lower Rhine only about 15 miles from the Dutch border.  Both the series number, No. 106, and the pattern name, Oberwessell, on the Rhine, are included in the printed mark.  The same view is also found on a plate and a soup plate. This view is one of the several printed on a large earthenware dinner service by E. Wood & Sons. Other patterns in this series of European views include Castle of Nepi, Italy, Trent, Strasburg, Mainz, Bellagio, Lake of Como, Dresden, The Dogano Venice, and Venice.  All of these patterns are recorded in the TCC Pattern and Source Print Database.
