Earthenware tile, printed in blue possibly depicting Venus and Cupid in classical ruined landscape. Marked on the reverse A. M. Ltd. Illustrations of a similar backs in The Decorated Tile by J&B Austerwick (pp.136-7) suggests the tile may be by Alfred Meakin who were known tile makers from the 1890s into the 20th century.BACK TO CATALOG INDEX
