Bone china coffee cup and saucer. The underglaze blue printed design depicts seaweed-like plant sprays falling from the rims of the cup and saucer. The molded handle is of unusual shape with 'straps' modeled across the top and bottom terminals. Bone china coffee cup and saucer. The underglaze blue printed design depicts seaweed-like plant sprays falling from the rims of the cup and saucer. The molded handle is of unusual shape with 'straps' modeled across the top and bottom terminals. Both pieces carry the red enamel painted fractional pattern number 42702 over 1 The saucer has an impressed mark which is barely legible and reads MINTON, There are traces of an S at the end of the name, the factory used the name MINTONS after 1872. There is also an illegible impressed date symbol, which most resembles the character for 1880, but this is by no means certain.
