Source Description:

The source print is from A Cabinet Of Quadrupeds by John Church, 1805.  The artist is Julius Caesar Ibbetson and the engraver is James Tookey.  It is interesting to note that the mahout in the source print is missing from the print on the platter.

Description:

An earthenware platter printed in blue with the Elephant pattern.  The source prints for the center as well as all of the animals in the four cartouches are from A Cabinet Of Quadrupeds by John Church, 1805.  The animals in the border cartouches are clockwise from the top: Tiger and Nylghau deer (this is a composite of two source prints), a Racehorse, a Hunting...
