Source Description:

The source print, Elk, is from A Cabinet Of Quadrupeds by John Church, 1805.  The artist is Julius Caesar Ibbetson and the engraver is James Tookey.  Although titled Elk, the animal is also known as a moose.

Description:

An earthenware platter printed in blue with the Elk or Moose pattern.  The border cartouches show clock-wise from the top: a beaver, bear, goats and racoons.  They were copied from A Cabinet of Quadrupeds by John Church, 1805.
