The source print is from The General History of Quadrupeds by Thomas Bewick, 1790.  Bewick was also the artist of the wood block engraving.

Description:

An earthenware sauce boat printed in blue with The New South Wales Wolf or Wolf pattern.  The border surrounding the cartouche is patterned with stylized leaves and flowers against a diamond or crosshatch background.
