Source Description:

Source print for central scene is "Shooting a Leopard", plate 23 of Oriental Field Sports by Thomas Williamson (author) and Samuel Howitt (artist), published in 1807 by Edward Orme, London.  Border animals are from plates 4, 28, 35 and the frontispiece.  The print size is 17.25 inches x 12.25 inches.

Description:

Well and tree platter in the Shooting a Leopard pattern by an unknown maker.  The mark is similar to that used by Edward Challinor.  Spode originated the pattern in its Indian Sporting series.
