Description:

This cabbage-leaf moulded jug belongs to a small group of porcelain believed to have been made by John Rose and Edward Blakeway at Jackfield in Shropshire.  The firm was described as the Calcut China Manufactory in a letter of December 1794 in the Wedgwood ledgers.  The factory was possibly set up as early as 1793 and probably closed in 1796, when Rose and Blakeway began making porcelain...
