Source Description:

Akbar's Tomb, -- Secundra, engraved from sketches by Capt. Robert Elliot, R.N., first appeared as plate 11 in Views in the East, published in 1833 by H. Fisher, Son, & Co., London.  The size of the print is 7 x 4.5 inches.

 This unmarked porcelain  platter, printed in gray and given the name Akbar's Tomb, is one of five Chamberlain pieces known with transfer-printed scenes of India.  It is not known whether a whole dinner service was produced, but the known pieces include a soup tureen.  The pattern shown here was also produced on an oval shaped platter.  One of the known pieces, a 10 inch...
