Source Description:
The source print, Fox, is from A Cabinet Of Quadrupeds by John Church, 1805. The artist is Julius Caesar Ibbetson (1759-1817) and the engraver is James Tookey (1795-1805). Notice that only the fox in the background was used on the pottery.Additional Image:
Seen here is the vegetable tureen with its cover. The lid is decorated with The Brown Bear (seen above) and The Wolf from The General History Of Quadrupeds by Thomas Bewick, 1790. Bewick was also the artist and wood block engraver. The four sides of the base of the tureen are printed with The Grys-Bok, The Pied Goat (also known as a harnessed antelope) The Gnu (seen above), and The Common Antelope.
