There are further smaller flower sprays on the other side of the cup but it is odd that the main print is placed with the handle to the left, which would be the reverse side of the cup for a right-handed drinker. This is pattern II.C.6 in the Branyan, French and Sandon's pattern book, where a teapot and cover are shown. This cup is larger than usual and may be a breakfast cup. It has a very rare handle shape. This printed pattern is also found on Caughley porcelain, where it is also very rare.This piece was no.648 in the book of the Zorensky Collection and lot 371 in Bonham's catalogue of part II of the collection.
