Description:

Earthenware jug printed with the fictive arms of 'The Society of Masters and Journeymen Engine, Machine and Millwright Smiths of Liverpool'. The main print is in reverse, note the motto below the shield is back to front. This may indicate that an engraving made for a book or for printing on paper has been used.
