Maker: John & William Ridgway Maker's Mark: Description: An earthenware plate printed in blue with a named view of the Library Philadelphia, This example is from Ridgway's Beauties of America series. The Philadelphia Library Company is one of the oldest in the country. It was organized in 1731 principally because of Benjamin Franklin's interest.
