Description:

This saucer is printed with a pattern peculiar to Lowestoft: Two Dromedaries on a Raft.  It shows a Chinese figure struggling to control a sampan heavily laden with two large dromedaries.  No source for this extraordinary scene has been discovered.  The pattern has a simple painted border of two lines but it is also known with a painted trellis border.
