The pattern is copied from the source print shown here, but little is known about the print. The caption under the engraving reads "The Figure of Heaven is all Delightful--A View of the Temple serv'd by Eunuchs, & of the delicious Round Island it stands upon".

Description:

A large hexagonal shape earthenware soup tureen with matching ladle and under tray printed in a dark blue pattern named Indian Temple. The piece has heavy molded acanthus leaves around the feet and gadroon rims. The finial and handles are painted in a dark blue ground and gild decorated.
