Bone china jug, with a floral design at the neck hand painted in enamel colours, and with blue enamel band at the rim and floral design down the spine of the handle. Each side and the front beneath the spouts is printed with the same scene which depicts a well dressed woman in a garden with a workman kneeling at her feet. Around the print on the front is the hand painted inscription Richard Waddams Hat Manufacter Stafford 1827. In Pigot’s 1828 Directory of Staffordshire Hat Manufacturers in Stafford included “Waddams & Biddulph.”
